If you want to live an unforgettable experience on Mount Olympus, there is no better way than crossing the mountain from its wild western side to the eastern side with a view of the Aegean and the lush vegetation passing through the plateau of the Muses.

Crossing Olympus in 2 Days

This exciting adventure starts from KEOACH, passing through the peaks of Ag. Antonis and Scolios, and crossing the impressive Zonaria. Heading towards the plateau of the Muses, we will relax for a while before continuing to the Petrostruga refuge. The next day, we will descend from the sunny Enipeas, a beautiful path with many changes, unknown to many.

The mountain crossings include experienced guides and all the necessary equipment for a safe and unforgettable experience. We are convinced that crossing Mount Olympus from the wild west side to the east is an experience of a lifetime that should not be missed.

The movement is done in small groups and with professionals who have completed the routes. The goal is to get in touch with nature and learn about the stories that each path hides.

Day 1: Meeting in Litochoro and transfer to Christakis Refuge

Embark on the ultimate mountaineering experience in the mythical Olympus, home of the gods! Our adventure begins in picturesque Litochoro. Our meeting is at the parking lot of Litochoro at 7:00 in the morning. We will carry out an equipment check and inform you of the day's schedule.

Day Program:

1. Litochoro – Christaki Refuge

  • You leave your personal cars and we board a bus that will take us to the Christaki shelter, one of the emergency shelters of Olympus at 2450. The climb up the dirt road that leads to the shelter is an experience in itself and the landscapes are unique!

2. Preparation for Ascension

  • The northwest side of Olympus has no vegetation, so be prepared for the sun. Wear a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and make sure you have enough water and snacks for the course.

3. Climb to the peaks

  • From the Christakis shelter, we will climb to the top of Scolios and enjoy the magnificent view of Megala Kazania, Mytikas and Stefani. (This excursion does not include climbing Mytikas as there is no time)
  • Then we will pass by the top of Skala to finally take the path of Calvary...

4. Descent to Golgotha ​​and Triethnes

  • We leave Skala behind us and descend Golgotha.
  • At Triethnes, we will make our way to the Plateau of the Muses, where we will rest and enjoy a beer or a light meal.

5. Path to Laimos

  • After the break, we will follow the path that leads to the spectacular Laimos and finally to the Petrostruga shelter, where we will spend the night.

6. End of Day

  • At the Petrostruga shelter, a delicious evening meal will await us to recharge our batteries. In the evening we will enjoy the night sky before retiring for some much needed rest.

Meals: Meals are not included. Mountain lodges have an organized kitchen where you can order from a variety of fresh meals.

Day 2: Petrostruga Refuge – Koromilia Refuge – Orlia Waterfalls

Get ready for a magical adventure on Olympus! Today's route is less demanding than the first day, but just as impressive. We will cover just 9.5 km, with the trail mostly downhill, offering a more relaxing experience.

Day Program:

1. Petrostrugka Refuge – Koromilia Refuge

  • We start our day from the Petrostruga shelter. The path we follow is mainly downhill, making the use of poles essential for comfortable hiking.
  • The path to Koromilia has a north orientation and crosses a dense forest with beech trees, offering coolness and amazing natural beauty.

2. Stop at Koromilia Refuge

  • In Koromilia we will make a pleasant stop to enjoy a refreshing beer.
  • It is the ideal time to relax and recover our strength before continuing our hike.

3. Red Rock Waterfalls – Orlia Waterfalls

  • From Koromilia, we head to the waterfall of the Red Rock, where we will enjoy the amazing view and the sound of the water.
  • Our final destination is the waterfalls of Orlia in Agios Konstantinos, one of the most beautiful and picturesque spots of Olympus.

Tips for the Course:

  • Hiking Poles: Essential for downhill route.
  • Water & Snacks: Make sure you have enough water and snacks with you for the hike.
  • Camera: Don't forget your camera to capture the magical moments.

  • Cancellation 7 days or more prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are automatically reimbursed for the full activity price.
  • Cancellation between 3 and 7 days prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are entitled to a 50% reimbursement.
  • Cancellation 3 days or later are what we call last-minute cancellations. No reimbursements will be effected.
