Activity Description

The route requires a 4x4 vehicle and, depending on the weather conditions, takes between 5 to 7 hours. It provides the opportunity to cross a significant portion of Mount Vernon or Vitsi, with the highest peak reaching 2,198 meters.

The vehicle that will accommodate you for these excursions is a Land Rover Discovery equipped with all the necessary off-road accessories.

Important information:

Starting from Kastoria, we pass through Vissinia and ascend towards Oxya and the Vitsi Ski Center. After passing the Ski Center and reaching the summit of Vitsi, we descend towards the Drosopigi area, and from there, we head towards Nymfaio, our destination.
The area is one of the main habitats of the brown bear. The lush forests of oak and beech offer enchanting views to visitors, especially during the autumn months, from lower altitudes. As we ascend in altitude, we come across alpine meadows where it is very likely to see herds of horses.
The return will be through a dirt road, crossing the mountainous settlement of Perikopi.
