This four-day tour around the Greek mainland is a real treasure for a history lover!
We can’t miss the stop at the Corinth Canal, so that you could take picture of the first manmade wonder on our way, after that you will check the acoustics in the Theater of Epidaurus, where the heroes of Aristophanes’ and Euripides’ stories came to life.
After that, you will find yourself in one of the most charming towns in the Peloponnese – Nafpleon, which used to be the first capital of modern Greece.
Do you remember king Agamemnon, the one who conquered the great city of Troy? You will have the opportunity to see his massive Tomb in Mycenae. Then we will set off to Olympia, that is where the Olympic games come from.
Our next stop is going to be in Delphi, which was regarded as the center of the world.
Meteora is the icing on the cake of our tour. The real geological wonder, gigantic rocks reaching heights of more than 600 meters and breathtaking landscapes were formed millions of years ago.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Olympia via Nafplion
Corinth, Corinth, Corinthia Region, Peloponnese: We will pick you up at the arranged location in Athens (departure time is at about 9-00). We will drive you along one of the picturesque roads which lead to the Corinth Canal. There we will make a pit stop to take some nice photos.
The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus: Our next stop is the Theatre of Epidaurus, which is considered to be the best preserved ancient theatre in Greece.
Mycenae: After that, we will relocate to Nafplion, Venetian heritage in Peloponnese. After a short walk, we will proceed to Mycenae, the kingdom of Agamemnon, first sung by Homer.
Olympia: Our day will end in the birthplace of the Olympic games, the small town of Olympia, where we will overnight.

Day 2: Olympia to Delphi
Before leaving this beautiful place behind, we will visit the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium, and the archaeological museum, a powerful and well-known around the world spot. After seeing Archea Olympia, we will head to another important and sacred place – Delphi. There we will stop for the night.
Overnight: Delphi
Day 3: Delphi to Kalambaka
Ancient Greeks believed that Delphi was the Navel of the Earth. It is home to the world-famous oracle. Pilgrims from all over the Hellenic world came here to learn about their future or to ask for advice from the ancient Greek god Apollo through the words of Pythia. Also, there is one of the most interesting and amazing museums in Greece. Then driving through authentic little villages of Central Greece, we will keep our way to the small town of Kalambaka.
Overnight: Kalambaka
Day 4: Visit Meteora and Return to Athens
You will see one of the most impressive regions in the country – Meteora. A real geological wonder formed millions of years ago attracts visitors from all over the world. But it is known not only for its breathtaking landscape. ‘Suspended in space’ is the name given to the area for housing Christian monasteries, built by monks on the top of 600-meter-high rocks centuries ago. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989.
Thermopylae: Our way back will go through such towns as Trikala, Lamia, and Thermopylae. There we will make a short stop to take a picture of the famous Monument of Leonidas. We will reach Athens by approximately 7:00 pm.
