Roman Aqueduct & Kastamonitsa Village
Begin your adventure by passing through ancient vineyards and stopping at the ruins of the Roman aqueduct in Lyttos. Enjoy a traditional Cretan coffee break in Kastamonitsa, a picturesque village where you can walk through narrow streets and admire the authentic architecture of central Crete.
Agia Anna Monastery & Limnakaro Plateau
As we ascend off-road trails, we pass the historic Agia Anna Monastery, one of Crete’s oldest religious sites, dating back to 1300 AD. Reaching Limnakaro Plateau (1,150m altitude), you will explore the stone shepherd huts (mitata) and take in the incredible panoramic views of Crete’s mountains.
Cave of Zeus – The Birthplace of a God
A must-visit stop is the legendary Cave of Zeus (Dikteon Andron), where Greek mythology claims the father of the gods was born. Explore the mystical stalactites and stalagmites of this ancient Minoan-era sanctuary (entry fee: €6).
