Itinerary

1. Traditional Shepherd’s Farm – Goat Milking & Cheese Tasting: Our journey begins in Potamies, a lush and authentic Cretan village. Here, you’ll visit a traditional shepherd’s farm, where you can witness time-honored practices such as goat milking and cheese-making. Enjoy fresh, locally crafted cheese, made right before your eyes.

2. Aposelemis Dam & The Sunken Village of Sfendili: Next, we stop at Aposelemis Dam, the largest water supply project in Crete. Admire the haunting beauty of Sfendili, a partially submerged village where old stone houses disappear beneath the water’s surface. This area is also a protected wetland, home to a variety of bird species.

3. Off-Road Adventure to Embassa Gorge: Leaving the paved roads behind, we embark on an exhilarating off-road journey through Embassa Gorge. Marvel at its rugged cliffs, breathtaking mountain views, and untamed nature. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to pick wild Cretan herbs, just like the locals do.

4. The Mythical Cave of Zeus & Lasithi Plateau: Reaching the spectacular Lasithi Plateau, you’ll have two options. Either explore the legendary Cave of Zeus, the mythical birthplace of the king of the gods (optional entrance fee: €6). Or relax and take in the panoramic views of the plateau’s stunning landscapes.

5. Traditional Cretan Lunch at a Local Tavern: No Cretan adventure is complete without savoring authentic local flavors. We’ll stop at one of the region’s renowned traditional taverns for a delicious meal cooked in a wood-fired oven, accompanied by local wine and water.

6. Krasi Village & The Oldest Plane Tree in Crete: Our final stop is the charming village of Krasi, where history and natural beauty intertwine. Here, you’ll discover historic fountains and ancient springs, as well as Crete’s oldest plane tree, estimated to be over 2,000 years old.
