Hiking in Parnitha

A Beautiful Hike in the National Park!

• Just 40 minutes from Athens, the mountain air of Mount Parnitha clears the mind and awakens the senses. We hike through fir and pine trees on an easily accessible trail with well-maintained paths, without steep slopes or challenging areas.
• During our hike in Parnitha, we learn about the park's flora, with 1,100 recorded plant species, and we also learn to 'read' the tracks of animals, understanding their behavior in the forest. We take refreshing breaks at natural springs and viewpoints that extend to eastern Attica and the southern Euboean Gulf. It's a hike that offers unique views and experiences!
• Our final destination is the mountain refuge of Bafi, at an altitude of 1,161 meters. We offer hikers drinks, snacks, and homemade pies as part of our hiking excursion.
• For those who wish, there's also the option to enjoy a rich bean stew, traditional sausage, pasta with minced meat, and many other homemade delights, all in the beautiful courtyard of the refuge with a breathtaking view of the peaks that touch the clouds.

• Activity ends at 2:00 PM.

Highlights:

Through the Parnitha Hike, we learn:

• About animals and understanding their behavior in the forest. Deer, wild boars, foxes, and other 34 mammal species and 131 bird species find refuge in the Parnitha National Park.
• About the park's flora with 1,100 recorded plant species, equally fascinating: during our journey, we encounter large and impressive mushrooms sprouting from the trunks, become aware of the baby fir leaves, and in spring, wildflowers captivate us with their colors.

Requirements for participation:

• Minimum participation: 8 people.
• Basic physical fitness.
• Ages 11 and above.
• Online reservation up to 48 hours before the hike.
