Take a dolphin Cruise in the Amvrakik Gulf on the boat!
Activity Description
As soon as our boat leaves the port of Preveza our cruise starts in the wetland of Amvrakikos Gulf, an ecosystem declared as a National Park and protected by international conditions.
In a landscape of unique beauty and tranquility, the observation of the magnificent bottlenose dolphins is a unique experience. These wonderful creatures which are considered one of the largest populations in the Mediterranean, often approach the boat in a playful mood. However, it’s not just the dolphins that we’ll come across.
During the summer months, we can see the Caretta caretta turtles, appearing slightly off the surface of the water to take a curious peek before returning to the bottom of the sea. On our cruise, we will come across islands with various species of birds residing and laying eggs on them, such as silver pelicans, cormorants, and herons, many of which are protected species.
We will also talk about fishing methods while fishing using rods in some of the fishing spots of the gulf. We will drop our anchor next to a small yet beautiful island of the bay, called Kefalos, where we will swim, search for shells and observe the surrounding waters using snorkels and masks – Not necessary for everyone.
Lunch on board!
As soon as you finish your bath, freshly fried catches, homemade pies and local flavors will be waiting for you on the boat, which we will enjoy together with a cold beer or local tsipouro and wine!
