Get ready for an unforgettable experience climbing Mount Olympus, the sacred mountain of the gods. The home of Zeus and the other gods in ancient Greek mythology awaits you to explore.
A climb to Mount Olympus is not just an adventure - it's an opportunity to reconnect with nature and an experiential experience you'll never forget! Proper preparation is the key to a safe and successful climb. The certified Mountain Guides of E.O.O.A. they will be with us every step of the way to guide and support us every moment of the climb, providing us with the necessary instructions and advice to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
2-DAY PROGRAM
- Saturday
07:00 - Departure from Kalamata and meeting of participants at the predetermined points.
The transport will be carried out with 9 seater vans.
Destination: Kalivia village at 600 meters altitude. Move to the location "Laka Christakis" (2,425 meters)
From here the transport will be carried out by 4x4 vehicles.
18:00 - Arrival at our destination and the Laka Christakis position at 2,425m.
Overnight: in Laka Christakis, with a choice between tents or the emergency shelter. Our company will provide all the necessary equipment for camping and preparing meals. In the late afternoon there will be a briefing and training in the basic techniques you will need to know for the next day's climb.
- Sunday
07:00 - Start of the climb to the top of Olympus.
During our ascent we will pass the third highest peak of Olympus, Scolios, where the view towards Kazania is truly breathtaking. In front of us we will have the Mytika and Stefani peaks and we will see their northern – wild side!
We continue to the top of Skala and from here we will prepare by applying the safety equipment that we have procured and we will cross – climb Kakoskala to the top of Mytikas.
We will follow the same steps of the first historic route in the first official recorded ascent of the summit of Olympus by Christos Kakalos, Frederic Boissonas and Daniel Baub Bovy.
Throughout the process we will be tied up purely for safety reasons.
Crossing the top of Skala and continuing to the top of Olympus (2,918m).
At the top we will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent view offered by the highest peak in Greece!
14:00 - Return to Laka Christakis. We will have some time to rest and enjoy our venture and then make our way back.
